Position Details Status: Per Diem, Non-Exempt FTE/Hours per pay period: 0.000001 FTE (per diem) Shift: Varies Shift Length: 8 Pay Range: 21.00 - 41.00 Location: 9300 Valley Children's Pl, Madera, CA 93636 USA About Us: The pediatric inpatient post-surgical unit, also known as Explorer, is a dynamic and fast-paced, 35-bed unit, specializing in post-surgical care for patients across various specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, cardiac, and neurology. With centralized monitoring, our dedicated staff ensures high-quality care for every patient, offering an excellent opportunity for nurses to acquire diverse skills due to the rapid turnover and patient variety. The unit also plays a crucial role in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), with 12 beds - 6 for seizure monitoring and 6 for surgical overflow cases. Our EMU rooms are equipped with specialty equipment to monitor and visualize seizure activity, leading to improved treatment and better patient outcomes. EXPERIENCE:

Prior work or volunteer experience is preferred EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIFICATIONS: High School Diploma/GED required Current enrollment with completion of at least two semesters/or equivalent in an accredited RN Program Enrollment throughout employment in an approved Work Study Course through an affiliated school (Fresno City College, CSU Fresno, West Hills, COS, SJVC, Merced, CSU Stanislaus) HeartCode Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position Advancement to PNE II is based on completion of the pediatric theory and clinical course work, and successful completion of the Valley Children's medication examination Must be able to complete the full, weeklong new hire/clinical orientation.
