What you will do-

As Automation Engineer, you will work independently to determine and develop approaches to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. You will use the latest engineering techniques to develop new products, support project deadlines, product costs. Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, increase operational efficiency, and support long-term manufacturing sustainability, implementing automation technology. The Automation Engineer fosters productive internal and external working relationships and may periodically provide guidance and train other team members.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies to improve manufacturing processes and enhance efficiency. Develop and execute strategies for modernizing manufacturing lines while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Provide automation engineering support for new product process introductions and process optimization, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures. Support capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, installation, and validation.
  • Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications. Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental test and result analysis. Lead and/or participate in workshop to develop automation strategies.
  • Complete capability studies for in automated process inspection and generate subsequent inspection documentation. Proficiency in SCADA systems, including configuration, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) software. Evaluate and troubleshoot applications programming code. Provide training for manufacturing team members.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP and safety procedures. Review and approval of validation documentation.

What you will need-

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in automation or control systems are a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing equipment implementation projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience, process mapping, statistical methods, and process/ product validations - preferred.
  • New product introduction in a regulated environment experience - preferred.
  • Proficiency in SCADA systems, PLC, HMI, etc - preferred.
  • Project Management Skills- preferred.
