Job Description

A Mechanical Designer job in the aerospace industry is currently available at Belcan in Bellevue, WA. This is a full-time, direct job with benefits. Great matching candidates will have experience designing structural components to aerospace standards using CATIA or Similar. You will design, draft, and release engineering documentation for components, assemblies and/or installation for commercial aircraft.

Job Duties:

Develops/modifies 3D CAD parts/assemblies and 2D drawings. Parts and assemblies may be comprised of composite materials, formed and machined metallics.

Accomplishes drawings pickups and corrections as directed by engineers.

Collects and manipulates data as directed by engineers.

Collaborates and communicates with the lead engineer to keep informed of task progress.

Provides technical and engineering support.

Reviews and gains comprehension of engineering drawings.

Required Qualifications:

AS Degree in Engineering/ related field or years of equivalent experience. Degree may not be necessary with more years of experience

Must have Aerospace experience.

Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is required.

4+ years' experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Knowledge and application of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) preferred

Experience creating engineering drawings using feature-based CAD systems

Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards.

Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and manufacturing technique design.

Knowledge of SolidWorks OR CATIA V5

Ability to effectively present oral and written engineering requirements and results

Create new or update existing drawings following Customer standards to incorporate design solutions

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of a team.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Works according to established guidelines.

Ensures application of best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools

Ability to effectively present oral and written engineering requirements and results

Ability to work seamlessly in an IPT environment and across facilities and groups

Requires educational credentials meeting the classification standards for engineers

Relevant technological knowledge.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Ability to lead others, work independently, and in a team environment.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $65,000 to $130,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
